Dana Hyde is the Executive Director of the Partnership for a Secure America. Ms. Hyde has held a number of positions in government and in the private sector, most recently serving as counsel on the 9/11 Commission. Her work on the Commission focused on crisis management and the immediate response of the White House, the Pentagon, and the Federal Aviation Administration to the attacks of September 11th. These findings are contained in Chapter One of the Commission�s final report. Ms. Hyde also served in the Clinton White House as Special Assistant to the President for Cabinet Affairs. In this capacity she worked with the chiefs of staff at the national security agencies � primarily the Departments of State and Defense -- to coordinate policy initiatives. Ms. Hyde also spearheaded the Cabinet�s efforts in support of the Administration�s health care reform initiative. As a lawyer, Ms. Hyde has represented clients in a range of criminal and civil litigation matters. Most recently, Ms. Hyde worked in London at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering, where she represented a client before an international arbitration panel in Vienna. Ms. Hyde also served at the Clinton Justice Department as Special Assistant to the Deputy Attorney General, where she managed and coordinated policy initiatives such as the implementation of the Department�s Hate Crimes Initiative. Ms. Hyde is a graduate of Georgetown Law School and holds a B.A. in political science from the University of California at Los Angeles. She is a member of the Edward Bennett Williams Inn of Court and has taught street law in the D.C. high schools. She is married and the mother of a young son.
